We at Empower4Life believe in the power of education to transform the minds and lives of children. Our goal is to decrease the negative health impacts of homelessness on children by providing structured fitness activities and wellness education.
As teachers, we have experienced firsthand the terrible impact that homelessness can have on a child’s ability to learn and grow. Yet as teachers, we know that with access to proper wellness education, physical fitness, and necessary resources, children can succeed in the classroom and in life. For shelter children this access is often blocked by poverty and environment. We are dedicated to breaking down these barriers to give these disadvantaged children every opportunity to succeed in achieving health and happiness throughout their lives.
Searching for ways to overcome these challenges inspired the creation of Empower4Life. We want all children to lead meaningful lives. Children excel when they feel safe and comfortable in the learning environment. Our goal is to create that environment for every homeless child with whom we strive to build a positive relationship. We believe that environment starts with caring, dedicated teachers who are trained to utilize a specialized curriculum that will give each homeless child an opportunity to become self-sufficient and confident.
We believe that the importance of a holistic ethos in our approach to creating welcoming learning environments for jeopardized children is paramount.
We believe that hands on, interactive learning experiences are the most memorable for the kids.
Our aim is to nurture the HEART, MIND and BODY of each young shelter resident through the utilization of age appropriate lessons and provision of essential resources. We believe that this integrated approach will serve best in helping to guide these children to a happy, healthy life.
Empower4Life believes in the power of holistic education to transform the minds and lives of children. We believe that by bringing play, laughter and joy to homeless children in the form of our lessons for life sessions, we can decrease the negative health impacts of homelessness.
